There're many many different ways to solve the Rubik's cube, but they're all actually quite similar. The method used for the first layer is sort of what I've come up with after all this time of solving the Rubik's cube. It is a combined version of all the tutorials I've seen before. It is the method I found easiest to learn, and also quite fast. If you really don't know what's going on, look for the algorithms. But I don't encourage you to do this because I can easily stuff you with algorithms right at the beginning, but my main purpose here is to let you understand what you are doing, instead of just memorizing all the algorithms.
Good luck with cubing!
