You may want to know how I developed my interest in all these cubes and puzzles. So here's something about me.
The first time that I got my hands on a Rubik's cube was when my brother bought me one for my birthday about five years ago. Neither of us had any idea how to solve a face, let alone the whole cube. My brother then learnt it himself and taught me afterwards. Soon after I learnt to solve the Rubik's cube, I bought a 5x5x5 cube and learnt to solve it too. When I finally succeeded, I was greatly fascinated by these puzzles, and soon bought the 2x2x2 and 4x4x4 cubes. However, I didn't learn to solve them right away, but tried to figure out the way myself, since they are actually quite similar to the methods used on the 3x3x3 and 5x5x5. I also think that it will be more fun if I can solve them without any help from others.
But I soon lost interest in all those cubes, and it wasn't until last summer that I regained my interest, when I found out a new and much faster way to solve the cube (a method called CFOP). Since then, I've been practising on the new method and my time has been greatly shortened. I have tried to teach my classmates and friends at school, and some of them can now solve the Rubik's cube without any problem. I even thought of setting up a Rubik's cube club at school, though I soon abandoned the thought.
Till now, I've got a collection of 12 different puzzles, and I am now challenging myself even further -- to try to solve the Rubik's cube blindfolded.
Through this webpage, I would like to share some of my own experiences, as well as to teach you how to solve the Rubik's cube. If there are any questions or suggestions, feel free to email me (email:[email protected]) any time. :)
